Financial Freedom and Time Freedom Can Be Yours

 So, you want to work from home? Congratulations! You have made a brilliant decision. Never before has it been more evident that each and every one of us needs to take control of our financial security and stop allowing an employer to determine our worth and our free time. I don’t know about you but I came to the realization that there has to be more to life than working, commuting, paying the bills and wondering where I would get the time and money for a vacation. Week after week, month after month, the same thing. There are amazing things in this world to be experienced and I just could not accept that I was going to miss out on them because of a job. The real turning point came when my son was born. That was when time became the most precious commodity in the world and I was giving it all away to my employer. That was the drawing line, I couldn’t do it anymore so I made the decision to quit my job and work at home.

You are not alone in your decision to work at home. Millions of people are making the same realization and starting their own businesses. The vast majority of them will be in the internet or network marketing industry. And for good reason. Internet Marketing is a very effective way to build a significant long term income. But here is the unfortunate part. Did you know that 97% of people who start or join an internet business venture will fail? I know, it’s depressing. But if you go into it knowing what to expect and are prepared to fight the fight then you can be one of those 3% who work at home and reap all of the benefits of financial and time freedom.

Why do so many people fail? Because they are not given the proper training. Training in MARKETING and training in MINDSET.

When you are deciding on which business to join one of your top requirements must be marketing training. If you decide to go it alone and start your own business from scratch then know that you are going to have to invest a significant amount of time and money into marketing materials. No matter how great a service or product or system is, it will fail if you do not know how to market it properly. Gone are the days of cold calling and bugging friends and family. It is not as simple as placing an advertisement or dropping some business cards in the right place. Internet marketing is an extremely effective but complex and competitive world.

I had the luxury of joining a business that centered around training and I learned more in the first month with them than I had in the previous 8 months of flailing around the internet with the wrong businesses. Find out exactly how much training you will receive and what kind of support will be behind it. Is the company easily accessible if you have questions? Throughout your business venture you must never stop educating yourself on marketing. Don’t go it alone. Don’t reinvent the wheel. There are amazing and brilliant leaders out there who have already struggled to figure it all out. Jay Kubassek, Mike Dillard, Perry Marshall to name a few. Find those leaders and learn from them and then learn from the people they recommend.

The other key component to your business training must be mindset. This aspect above all others will determine if you succeed or fail. Lets look at a few definitions:

PERSEVERANCE is defined as continuing in a course of action without regard to discouragement, opposition or previous failure; persistent determination to adhere to a plan of direction; insistence.
DISCOURAGEMENT is defined as the feeling of despair in the face of obstacles.

Get comfortable with both of these words. They will become very important to the future of your business. You will have to decide every day if you and your family are worth the struggle of perseverance or if you will surrender to discouragement.

Find a business that places importance on mindset. One that teaches you what the successful know. Educate yourself on the minds of leaders. Read books like Think and Grow Rich, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, Rich Dad, Poor Dad and Why We Want You To Be Rich. Do not stop developing your mindset, do not underestimate the importance of it. Every single one of the work at home success stories came about because they had the proper mindset.

It may take you six months, a year, two years or ten to turn your work at home venture into a profitable business. If you are thinking -forget it, it’s not worth it, I don’t have that much time- then maybe you should ask yourself where you will be ten years from now if you just keep doing the same thing you are doing now.
